In the Sierra Madre Occidental specifically in the priority region for conservation located in Madera, Chihuahua, Mexico you can see Thick-billed Parrot. This region is home to mature pine forests with the presence of high biodiversity.

Thick-billed parrot (Rhynchopsitta pachyrhyncha) is a parrot endemic to Mexico that is distributed in the pine forest-covered highlands of the Sierra Madre Occidental. It feeds in pine and pine-oak forests. It nests colonially in cavities in large poplar trees, whose soft trunks allow nest excavation. They are generally found in flocks of 10 to 100 individuals, less frequently in dispersed pairs.
The Thick-billed Parrot tour will visit the priority region to observe Thick-billed Parrot, Eared quezal, Mottle owl among other species. The duration of the tour is 3 full days of birding.
