The Cielo Biosphere Reserve located in Gomez Farias, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The reserve presents different types of vegetation such as tropical deciduous forest and cloud forest. Both types of vegetation present a great diversity of plant, reptile and BIRD species. At this site, both types of vegetation find their northernmost limit of their distribution.

Therefore, this place is diverse in birds with a neotropical distribution such as Great Curassow, Singing Quail, Squirrel Cuckoo, Sungrebe, Great Black Hawk, Gartered Trogon, Smoky-brown Woodpecker, Lineated Woodpecker, Golden-olive Woodpecker, Bat Falcon, Barred Antshrike, Olivaceous Woodcreeper, Elegant Euphonia, Yellow-throated Euphonia, Yellow-faced Grassquit, Crimson-collared Grosbeak, Blue Bunting and others. In addition, you can observe species endemic to Mexico such as Tamaulipas Pygmy-Owl, Blue-capped Motmot and Altamira yellowthroat.
